This is a Preventing/Countering Violence extremism project, implemented in partnership with Peace Training Centre (PTC) and supported by Pharos Observatory France through JDPC Jos, aims to promote social cohesion and open societies by engaging youth collaboratively, facilitating shared learning, and initiating joint efforts in communities divided by religious identities. Launched in 2023 and extending through 2024, the project encompasses various activities including advocacy meetings, capacity-building training for youth interfaith champions, intergenerational dialogues through storytelling, and the planting of commitment trees. Additionally, it involves designing and implementing joint learning initiatives, conducting learning review meetings, and producing lessons learned documents. Operating in four religiously segregated communities across Jos South and Bokkos LGAs of Plateau state, the project targets 60 youth ambassadors as direct beneficiaries, 180 storytelling listeners, and engages with 2000 social media users.
As noted by one of the participants, the project holds promise for fostering understanding and collaboration among diverse religious groups.
